I have access to hotel and resort programs that include many features you’d have to pay extra for, like Wi-Fi and breakfast, room upgrades and early check-in and late check-out.

I have access to a proprietary Cruise Track system that constantly monitor your cruise for changes in price, itinerary and more! It even lets me know when a better room or lower price becomes available.

These terms are frequently used interchangeably, but they can have distinct differences.

Trip Protection

1. Offers limited trip cancellation coverage, usually in the form of waiving fees and issuing credit due to changes in your trip or cancellations, respectively.

2. it is limited and less customizable.

3. it is an unregulated product, usually sold by trip provider.

Trip Insurance

1. It is customizable and can include losses associated with trip delays or cancellations, lost luggage and medical expenses.

2. It can even inclue coverage for pets, sports equipment and roadside services.

3. It is a regulated product, underwritten by a reputable insurance company.

Irrespective of the name, be sure you understand what it covers and what it does not:

1. What is the coverage if I need to cancel my trip before it starts, due to illness or unforeseeable emergencies?

2. What is the coverage if my trip is interrupted and I need to return home, due to illness from pre-existing condition or other emergency?

3. What is the coverage if my flight is delays or I miss a connection?

4. What is the coverage if my luggage is lost or stolen?
